Monet's Water lilies

Artist: Gail

We have been studying photographs of water lilies and have been inspired by Monet's beautiful paintings to create our own painted water lily gardens. It has been fun to try painting in an impressionist style for the background by layering up lots of colors and allowing each color and stroke to be visible. This can be a challenge not to mix all the colors together. Each leaf is painted and glued to the water. The flowers are made from layering 3 painted flower shapes to create on textural water lily. Each student has thought about the arrangement of flowers and leaves on their water.
